A day trip a long time in the offing , my good friend Oscar and I headed south aways. With an arsenal of baits in the cooler we were quite optimistic. The wind today was a brisk nor/wester which i thought we would benefit from adding chop and colour. Starting over low we quickly found some nice Bass up to 5lb, which was a miracle as the crab numbers were biblical ! 🦀 We then got plagued with weed and play was suspended for 2 hrs frustratingly 🙄 in the meantime the clouds parted sun out and an abating wind meant for a change in fortune . Lines wet at last we made hay , Bass continued to indulge themselves on our baits but unfortunately no size . As Oscar and I contemplated the fishing my rod tip hooped round indicating something better . A decent bend and a darting fight our intended quarry came into the shallows . Lifting her clear a glass caser gilthead of just over 4lb presented itself , they are pretty fish 🐟. The next couple of hours kept us busy with a few more over the 4lb mark and two very happy anglers ended a splendid dayout🎣
