Snowbee Raptor Spinning Rod
The new ‘Raptor’ series represents a new direction for Snowbee. Having developed a new Sea Angling range in 2011, for 2012 they wanted to launch a new range of Spinning rods and reels, equally at home on rivers, spinning for Trout, Sea-Trout and Salmon, as on the shoreline, spinning for Bass, Pollack and Mackerel.
Raptors are the result of considerable development and testing, to fulfill the design brief of the ultimate ‘all-round’ predator series of spinning rods. These fast action rods have a model to cover all applications. Manufactured using the latest 24 and 30 ton carbon, the use of multidirectional carbon mat allows Snowbee to produce very light weight blanks, which are still highly resilient, with huge reserves of power… for when needed. Fast, responsive tips, with a smooth, progressive power curve, right through to the butt!
These two new ‘Micro’ spinning rods are designed mainly for fishing the new generation of micro soft-baits and small ‘plugs’ or spinners. Available in a 6ft 2-8g weight or a 7ft 2ins 4-12g model, the top 30-40cm of the tip is solid carbon to allow amazing flexibility, coupled with outstanding sensitivity and delicate casting precision.
These rods are ideal for heavier soft-bait work, or ‘plugging’ with hard-lures. The range includes 4 models between 7ft 2ins and 8ft 6ins, covering lure weights from 7 to 35g.
The heavier weight maxi spinning rods make great ‘allrounders’, whether spinning from the boat, shoreline or the river bank. The 10ft 15-50g model, makes an ideal general purpose spinning rod and the range also includes a 4-pce 8ft travel rod, ideal for the travelling angler. Packing down to a convenient 27” to fit most angler’s luggage. The Micro rods are fitted with ultra light single-leg rings, while the Midi and Maxi models use the new low-profile guides, which not only provide quick ‘taming’ of coils coming off a fixed spool reel at high speed, but will also stand up to rough handling if you are ‘rock-hopping’ craggy shores.
All rods are supplied in a quality nylon rod bag, with mesh front to assist drying.
